The annual event that began in the 1930s as a neighborhood picnic under a huge tent has evolved into a block party held in September. A section of one of our neighborhood streets is blocked from traffic and a large area is set up with tables and chairs.
Beginning at the dinner hour, parents and children, friends and neighbors all gather for an evening of great food and fun. Directors of the Meadowbrook Neighborhood Association handle all the set-up and the grilling. The Association provides burgers and hotdogs, beverages, and more, while each neighbor brings a dish to share.
It’s a great evening, with delicious food and a chance to chat with friends old and new. Kids enjoy the music, bouncy inflatables and more.
The 2026 edition of the Block Party will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 5 pm (rain date Sunday, September 27th).
